Typographica Exhibition

I have just got back from London where i went to have a look at a small exhibition at Kemistry Gallery of the Typographica prints. Typographica was a magazine that ran from 1949 to 1967 and was one, if not the most visually impressive design journals ever made. Herbert Spencer was given full rein on the magazine, being the editor, designer, photographer and writer and aimed to introduce readers to the pioneering figures of Modernist typography. There were 32 issues in total, spread over two series of 16 and included work by Alan Fletcher, Max Bill, BCG, Max Huber, Alexander Rodchenko and many more..
