David Chipperfield / Jan Kaplicky

Whilst at the design museum i looked at two different architecture exhibitions, one was David Chipperfield which was a fantastic display in the large room on the first floor of many of his building arranged with large scale blueprint designs next to them, also some had models made of the building ranging in size and texture. Overall a really interesting and involving exhibition.

The other was a small collection of Jan Kaplicky's, responsible for some of the most dynamic and jaw dropping building, from the Selfridges in Birmingham to the press office at Lord's Cricket Ground, his ideas to push what a building can be, completely inspiring. The exhibition contained some small scale models, some actively made into actual buildings, some competition entree's and others mere fantasies. It was fantastic to image what some of them would have looked like had they been made!
